Committee Interest

All current, active paid members of the Chapter are eligible to serve on a committee. Additional criteria may be required for some committees. Most committee deliberations are accomplished by phone, fax, or email, with the exception of the Audit Committee and the Budget Committee.
All Chairs are designated by the Chapter President. Membership requirements, if any, are listed below with the descriptions.


Ad Hoc Committee - Policy Manual

Reviews and Updates the Manual

(Three (3) active or honorary members)


Audit Committee

Reviews the Chapter's bank account(s) annually during the month of November. Their findings shall be reported to the membership at the February meeting.

(Three (3) active or honorary members)


Budget Committee

Assists in the preparation and presentation of the fiscal year budget.


By-Law Committee 

Reviews and recommends amendments to the membership in odd numbered years.


Clerk (Member) of the Year Committee

Nominates City Secretary of the Year and Member of the Year and works in cooperation with the nominee to prepare the TMCA, Inc., Clerk of the Year submittal by the required deadline.


Holiday Celebration Committee

Plan,  coordinate and host holiday program held in December.


Legislative Committee

Convenes during legislative years (odd). Reports and presents significant bill changes to the members.

Membership Committee

Maintains communication with members regarding matters of interest and importance and develops a program to increase and maintain membership.


Newsletter Committee

Develops and distributes Chapter newsletter.


Nominating Committee

Nominates officers for consideration by the membership for the upcoming year. 

(Immediate Past President and two (2) members.)


Scholarship Committee

Reviews applications and approves or denies the requests as well as coordinates fundraising efforts to fund upcoming scholarships.

Special Projects Committee

On alternating years plans the Records Management Day and Athenian Dialogue Programs; coordinates with TMCA and IIMC and plans other educational/leadership programs.

(two (2) active, retiree, or honorary members with President-Elect appointed chair of this committee.)

Technology/Website Committee

Reviews and recommends changes, maintains Lone Star Chapter website and any social media accounts.
